There are three DG ratings: Low: 55 or less Moderate: 56-69 High: 70 or above Low GD foods are the preferred choice, as they are digested slowly, causing a slower and lower rise in blood sugar levels. On the other hand, foods with a high GD value are digested quickly, resulting in a rapid rise and then a sharp drop in blood sugar levels.
